Gabriela Rosa is a mum of two and one of Australia's leading fertility experts. With over 20 years of experience in this field, Gabriela helps couples all over the world overcome fertility issues and miscarriage through her F.E.R.T.I.L.E Method, a specifically-designed framework that looks at all the areas of a couple's life. A system that she even applied to herself to overcome her own fertility woes and fall pregnant with her two children! So if you've been trying to conceive for more than two years, have had a range of failed treatments and feel like you've tried everything and reached the end of the road, Gabriela and her team can help.

Through a holistic and highly-customised approach, Gabriela educates and supports couples in her Natural Fertility Breakthrough Programme to make changes that will help them optimise the chances of conceiving or having a successful treatment, whatever method they may choose. Gabriela has also educated over 85,000 people all over the world with her free 12-day Fertility Challenge, and she believes that if a couple wants a baby and are willing to invest the time, money, and energy to do what it takes, they will.

In this episode, you'll learn what secondary infertility is and why it is something that impacts so many couples trying to conceive their second or subsequent children. You'll also find out how age and lifestyle, as well as male fertility and DNA quality, may have an impact on your chances to conceive. And finally, you'll learn about the exact steps Gabriela takes to help people get the outcome they want the most - a new baby.

This week I have something a little different for you. This solo episode is not only the last one of this season and of 2018 - it also represents a final chapter in the Yorks' life. In this episode, I - Lisa York - talk about our family's journey of beating childhood cancer, as our third son, Benny, prepares to have his last chemotherapy treatment on the 21st December 2018 in Sydney. An uncut, unedited video version of this episode is also available, so if you'd like to get an idea of what recording a podcast entails (warts and all) here's your chance.

As you may already know if you're a regular listener to the show, our son Benny was diagnosed with leukemia shortly before his third birthday when we were living in London (UK). In this episode, I talk you through Benny's devastating diagnosis, those hard few months of chemotherapy, and how we handled our darkest hour after moving to Canberra (Australia). It's a story full of twists and turns, lots of tears, tiredness, and difficulties.

But as we move back to Sydney and prepare for Benny's last treatment, we are entering a new, exciting chapter of our lives. I am grateful for the people who shared this journey with us and feel lucky and blessed for the way Benny's leukemia has changed me and helped me grow as a person. This podcast and my online membership - Let's Conquer Motherhood - wouldn't exist if it wasn't for what we experienced over the last few years.

We are a family who survived childhood cancer. And for me, the lesson to be learnt is that there's something good in every situation, even in adversity. So I want you to hold on to this.

Tomorrow is another day.

And you too, will get through it.

Clarissa Hughes is a Mindfulness Coach, an author, and a speaker. After being forced to leave a corporate job she loved in a large Australian multi-national, Clarissa came face to face with the reality of juggling being a single mum and working for a small business that didn't give her the flexibility she needed at the time. Exhausted, Clarissa eventually cracked under the pressure and burnt out. At a time when she felt like life wasn't much fun, Clarissa stumbled across the concept of mindfulness and decided to train to become a mindfulness coach.

Two years ago, Clarissa left her corporate job. She now lives in Sweden, and her life has changed for the better. She now teaches her clients how to incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion into their everyday, busy lives. Through her work, Clarissa helps people feel calmer, more aware, more alive and aligned with what truly matters in life.

In this episode, you'll learn how you can incorporate short mindful interventions into your daily life and what you can do when you start to feel frazzled and overwhelmed. You'll also find out why building good, healthy habits is the foundation of living a healthier life that will sustain you during the busiest and most challenging times of your life. And finally, you'll discover a way to become kinder and more compassionate to yourself so you can start to say no when you feel things are getting on top of you.

Let's Conquer Motherhood member Tanya Cunningham is a mum of 2 boys and a Life Coach based in Canberra. Having struggled in the past with her own sense of identity and with negative self-talk, Tanya now works passionately with mums to equip them and empower them to become the mums they want to be in the season of motherhood they're in. As a coach, Tanya supports mums with some of the practical aspects of their lives as well as with the transformational mindset shifts that will help them achieve success in motherhood. Whatever success means to them.

Tanya believes that as mums we are always learning. While our children may be learning to walk or talk, we are finding our feet too - always trying to do our best based on the capacity and the resources that we have available to us. Motherhood is full of seasons - some of them quite short - and it's important we always make time to adjust and re-evaluate who we want to be as mothers in the phase we're currently in.

In this episode, you'll learn why it's important to celebrate your wins on a regular basis, as small as they may seem. You'll also discover a simple tool that you can use whenever you become aware of your own negative self-talk, so you can help your brain to switch into problem-solving mode. And last but not least, you'll learn why it's important to have a long-term vision and strategy when it comes to motherhood.

Dr Emma Svanberg (a.k.a. The Mumologist) is a clinical psychologist specialising in pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. Having always been fascinated by mental health, and how our mental and physical health is influenced by our histories and environment, after completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Emma decided to specialise in the perinatal period and support parents during what is often a delicate time in their lives, when rapid emotional changes and transformation can take place.

Emma offers one to one psychological therapy, as well as group support. She is a keen writer and campaigner for issues related to mental health and parenting and co-founded the Make Birth Better network with Dr Rebecca Moore. She is passionate about spreading the message that it really does take a village to raise a child and that expectant and new mums and dads do need support and should not be expected to parent in isolation. This is why Emma is campaigning for change. She feels that, as a society, we need to begin to recognise how crucial this period of our lives is - so that it can lead to positive change and growth for parents and their children.

In this episode, you'll find out why tuning into your baby's cues is so important and yet so difficult, and you'll understand how small changes in the way you interact with your baby can have a huge impact on your relationship with your child. You'll also learn who you should reach out to and how if you ever feel like you're struggling, and you'll discover why being able to express and vocalise your emotions makes for a healthier approach to your own mental health and your children's too.

Fifteen years ago, Amy Rasdal left her corporate job to start her own consulting business. Today, through her brand Billable with Baby, she helps other working mums leave the corporate world and start their own successful consulting businesses. Amy makes it possible for women who love their job and have years of experience and education behind them, to gain the confidence and courage they need to build businesses that work around their families. Because having a baby doesn't mean having to make financial or professional sacrifices!

Through her practical approach and advice, Amy empowers mums to identify the skills that make them experts at what they do, so they can start to offer the right services to the people who need them and charge their worth. Amy believes that your business should make you money from the word go because that's the only way to create a career that truly gives you the freedom and flexibility to live a life on your terms and no one else's.

In this episode, you'll learn about the exact three steps you can take to secure your first clients and create a solid business that will generate money quickly. You'll also find out how not to underprice yourself, why getting a website or professional headshots shouldn't be your priorities when you first start out, and how confidence and financial planning play a big role in your consultancy business.

Esther Blum is an Integrative Dietician and author based in Connecticut, where she runs a busy private practice. Over the years, Esther has coached thousands of women to help them eliminate the need for medication, lose stubborn belly fat, reverse chronic illness, and smile when they look in the mirror. She's passionate about helping more people shift the cultural conversation around food so that you can eat more healthily but also teach your children that good food is great fuel for our bodies. Together with her 11-year-old son, Esther has developed a 6-week online program, Nutrition School for Families, to address all the tough food and health challenges that we face at home such as food battles, sleep issues, sensory issues, picky eaters, ADHD, constipation, overweight children and body image issues, and immune function.

Just like I do, Esther believes that with the right mindset and the willingness to plan ahead and get organised, you can eat a healthy diet, even if you're a busy mum. You can learn to sustain your body with the right kind of energy that will get you through the day, train your body to crave healthy food, and teach your children good eating habits from a young age.

In this episode, you'll learn how to set your children up for a lifetime of healthier choices just by having clear boundaries around food. You'll also find out why eating meals as a family, preferably without technology, is important in helping your children develop a healthy mindset when it comes to their meal preferences. If you have a picky eater in your family, you'll learn some strategies that you can use to encourage your little ones to try new foods, and you'll even find out why the temperature and texture of certain foods can be an issue for some children.

Lore Earley-Goldstein has a gift. She can read people at soul level. Originally a teacher, Lore re-trained in traditional psychotherapy after realising that something just wasn't adding up for her. Feeling lost, inadequate, and often 'broken', she struggled for a long time - deep down she knew she was meant to be on a different path and do greater work. Eventually, Lore found the courage to release the baggage that no longer served her and to start living according to who she really is, at soul level. She found her purpose. And now she helps others learn what their purpose is, so they can use their unique strengths and skills to build careers and relationships where they can thrive and flourish.

Lore's journey in moving away from a life that was built on external expectations wasn't easy. It involved a lot of soul-searching, and she went through an extremely emotional and difficult time, which even resulted in the end of her first marriage. While going through divorce, Lore also walked away from her career in psychotherapy, but it all paid off. She's now married to her soulmate and has built a successful career around her deep calling.

In this episode, you'll learn how deciding to tune into your own unique set of strengths can help you make the leap to do something more meaningful with your life, so you can experience what it feels like to live 'in flow', whatever you decide to do. You'll also find out how by understanding yourself, your partner, and your children on a deeper level, you can build stronger relationships and let go of the guilt that comes from blindly following the rules and expectations that you think society has dictated for you.

Business Coach and Let's Conquer Motherhood member Jessica Fearnley is a healthy mum of two young boys and runs a successful business around her and her family's needs. But getting to where she is today wasn't always easy. About 8 years ago, and only a few months into her marriage, things came to a head for Jessica. Feeling unwell, exhausted, and completely broken and burnt out after years of working extremely hard and putting pressure on herself, Jessica decided to leave the corporate world and the career she had worked so hard to build.

Emotionally and physically at an all-time low and unable to work, she did the only thing she felt she could do. She took time out and built herself up again one tiny step at the time. When Jessica fell pregnant with her first child, a lot of the symptoms she had experienced as a result of stress and anxiety made an unwelcome come back into her life. And needless to say, her dream of having an idyllic 9 months was totally crushed. After a difficult birth, Jessica struggled to adjust to life with a newborn, and she very quickly realised that she was keen to put her professional experience to good use again, but she had to do it on her terms. So when her son was only 4 months old, Jessica's business was born.

In this heartfelt episode, you'll learn how being completely honest with yourself and the way you feel about motherhood can help you understand what really matters to you in life. By the end of this interview, you'll be inspired to do life on your terms, be true to yourself, and be completely unapologetic about it.

Mum-of-two and Let's Conquer Motherhood member Stephanie Myerscough has recently packed her bags and her whole life and moved to Italy with her husband and young children. While she's still busy getting used to a new country, culture, and language and settling her family in, Stephanie is also studying for a post-graduate Master Degree in Applied Positive Psychology, attending lessons between the UK and France.

Following the demands of her husband's job, Stephanie and her family have moved home several times over the last few years, and while life has certainly been full on, Stephanie is embracing the opportunities that are coming her way and making the most of what she's learning through her degree and within the Let's Conquer Motherhood membership.

In this episode, Stephanie introduces us to the concepts of thriving and flourishing. If you've ever had times when you felt you were just nodding along and navigating through life with no real intention, you may have found yourself in 'survival mode'. As Stephanie points out, while this is something a lot of mums experience, it's common to lack the knowledge and tools that can help us transition from a negative mental state to a more positive one. One where you're not just surviving, but where you're also thriving.

By the end of this interview, you'll learn an easy, practical technique that you can use at any time to check in with yourself to become more in tune and aware of your emotions and the way you're feeling. If you ever find yourself in burnout or survival mode, you'll see that there are always ways to make changes and turn your day around.

Mum-of-4 Rhonda Melogy runs a successful 6-figure business and a busy household. If that wasn’t enough, she also homeschools her four children. Having started her first seasonal business as a side-hustle while she still worked in her corporate job, Rhonda quickly realised she had a choice. She could either run herself into the ground trying to do it all, or she could work with her 'team' (the five other people in her family) and find a way to thrive both in her personal and professional life. How does she do it? Systems.

Rhonda's children all share the load at home. Her chore chart system ensures that all the important household jobs get done on a daily basis, but it also teaches her children age-appropriate life skills, instills a strong work ethic and creates the mindset that everyone can and should contribute towards family life. If you've ever fallen into the trap of being unrealistic with your time and running after your children thinking you can do a task better or quicker than they will ever do at their age and stage, Rhonda will remind you that your time is one of the most valuable assets you have. You just can't make more of it.

In this episode, Rhonda shares how to find pockets of time in your day to get really intentional about what you want to do. By the end of the episode, you'll understand why you should focus on one thing at the time, create systems and workflows in your life and business, and delegate or outsource any relevant tasks. If you're ready to learn how you can get everything done, but also find time for yourself and build strong connections with your family, you'll love my conversation with Rhonda..

Soon after becoming a mum, Vicki Dawson learnt an important lesson the hard way.  Newborn babies don't sleep very well. But in Vicki's case, her son's challenging sleeping patterns continued for a number of years. Needless to say, this left Vicki chronically sleep-deprived and feeling totally exhausted and isolated as a result.

Her experience, and the way it affected both her personal and professional life, led to the creation of The Children's Sleep Charity, which offers information and strategies to parents and professionals in supporting and educating families around sleep.

Through her work, Vicki empowers families who are struggling with sleep to make the changes that are right for them. These can include creating sleep plans, practising breathing and mindfulness exercises, and learning strategies to create a calmer and less tense environment around bedtime.

With a lot of information out there focused on children's sleep, Vicki reminds us that a mother's sleep habits can still be negatively impacted long after her children are sleeping through the night. As busy mums, we have a duty to prioritise our sleep in order to stay well, become more effective, and keep our families safe, which is why in this episode Vicki shares tips to help mums sleep better.

During this interview, you'll learn why what you choose to do in the hour before you go to bed can dramatically improve your sleep quality. By the end of this episode, you'll have a number of practical strategies to get more in synch with your body and relax before bedtime, including a list of foods that you should or shouldn't eat before bed. You'll also learn what causes you to wake in the night and what you can do if you struggle to fall asleep again. Follow Vicki's advice, and you'll be ready to sleep like a baby. But this time, in a good way!

Newly married, pregnant, and in her twenties, Emily Hodge received a devastating cancer diagnosis that would change the course of her life in many ways. One of which was losing her baby and being unable (so far) to conceive again.

That was a few years ago and, after 15 years working as a Health Psychologist in the NHS, Emily used her experience to help others. She's now a successful Life Coach and has helped and supported hundreds of people, including other cancer patients, to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Over the years, working with people on a one-to-one basis and in group settings, Emily started to notice something. No matter who you are, where you're from or what your backstory is, we all want similar things - to feel happier, calmer, more focused and to lead a life that’s right for us.

So in 2017, Emily launched her signature group programme - the Gentle Life course, which guides rushed, busy and stressed out women over 6 weeks to map out what living more gently means to them. It provides them with the tools and strategies to kickstart the lifelong work that will help them lead the life they want to live (so that they might shout less at their kids, be happier in their relationships and be so much kinder to themselves).

In this episode, you'll learn how checking in with your feelings, thoughts, and emotions allows you to re-define your behaviours, actions, and habits. By becoming more aware of the way you spend your time, you'll find out how you can start to say no to the things you don't really want, so you can gradually replace them with the things that you do.

If you're ready to find a little bit of space and calm in your life, learn how to be kinder to yourself, and discover some practical tools that will help you develop your emotional resilience, tune in and discover the five steps that Emily shares that will help you live more gently.

When Janine Esbrand became pregnant with her first son, she started questioning her high-flying career as a busy corporate lawyer. Working late into the night with a nanny looking after her son full time no longer seemed like the perfect solution. After a year off on maternity leave, Janine decided to abandon her dream of becoming a partner in a law firm and get a part-time job as an in-house legal counsel instead. A choice that allowed her to spend time with her family but also pursue the legal career she had been working so hard for.

Fast forward a few years, Janine is now the owner of LightBOX Coaching - a company that supports ambitious women who want to continue or kick-start their careers beyond motherhood. Through a signature course, one-to-one sessions, and her membership programme, Janine provides return-to-work coaching, training, and resources for both individuals and organisations. So if you noticed that your priorities and values have shifted now that you’re a mum, and you feel you may need to walk away from your career, Janine will show you that you don’t have to.

By the end of this episode, you’ll understand how you can have a career that you love which is also compatible with raising your family. You’ll learn how you can rebuild your confidence, discover and leverage your strengths (both at home and in the workplace), and ensure that your career choices meet your personal and family values. You’ll also pick up some very practical tips to help your colleagues and managers recognise you as a valuable member of the team. Because being a mum doesn’t mean you can’t go for the role or promotion that you really want!

Mum-of-two Renee Avis has the life-altering job of helping women who are struggling with body image, post-partum depression and anxiety, and eating disorders. As a Licensed Professional Counsellor she helps clients recognise their condition, and learn how to accept and love their bodies again.

Fulfilling her passion as a therapist, Renee's worked in treatment facilities and private practice for 12 years. She teams up with dieticians to support her patients in their journey from understanding and accepting their struggles to regaining control and achieving a healthier balance with food and nutrition.

Renee explains that an eating disorder massively impacts behaviour and lifestyle on a daily basis, so helps her clients dig deep to explore the internal narrative that may be stopping them from being kinder to themselves. One step at a time, she helps them to reframe their thinking and to start focusing on the self-care activities that they resonate with, which ultimately enables them accept their body more.

In this episode, you'll learn to pick up on the important clues that could indicate that you, or a fellow mum, is struggling with an eating disorder. You'll understand how loneliness and depression can be both a cause and an effect of an eating disorder, and how unrealistic expectations and unhelpful ideals in society may be stopping you from accepting your post-partum body. Whether you have an eating disorder or not, you'll discover how important it is to tune in and listen to your body and the signals it's sending you to. When Zoe Blaskey's daughter was born everything changed. Despite being a trained meditation and yoga teacher and having a strong self-care practice, Zoe abandoned the daily habits that had given her so much inner strength over the years. She found herself overcome by fear and anxiety and, like many mums, started comparing herself to others. With her self-esteem hitting rock bottom, the negative patterns she was once so familiar with made an unwelcome comeback, and her self-critical voice became really loud.

Thankfully Zoe, now a coach, podcaster and speaker, knew exactly what to do. Through her training and experience, she gradually started to re-connect with the things she knew worked for her - community, meditation, yoga, and journaling. In a way, Zoe was lucky. Even though she found herself lost in the mayhem of early motherhood, she had the right tools to overcome her fear and anxiety. This is why, on a rainy Thursday afternoon, Zoe decided to start Motherkind. Through her blog, podcast and coaching, she shares her experience and knowledge to help and support other mums through testing times.

In this episode, you'll understand why your brain is wired for anxiety and fear and learn how you can look within yourself to overcome the big emotions that come with motherhood. By the end of this episode, you'll have a number of really easy-to-implement tools that will help you find or re-connect with who you are. You’ll learn to stop living out of obligation and start living the life that you want to live instead. Because like Zoe says, your children are only young once, and this is the only chance you’ll get to enjoy these precious years.

Dr Pragya Argawal is an academic, designer, writer, business owner, and the busy mum of three girls. Born and raised in India, she moved to the UK as a young single mum to complete her Master's Degree and PhD. Pragya is no-doubt a very accomplished woman, but things haven't always been easy for her.

During her academic career, she suffered from stress and burnout, and more recently, after the premature birth of her twins, fought anxiety and depression. Severely sleep-deprived and under pressure with not one but two babies suffering from colic and reflux, Pragya fell back on to her safety net. Creativity.

During a break from her career, Pragya had turned her hobby of print-making into a business by setting up her own art studio Hedge and Hog Prints. And in 2017, inspired by her twins' multiple allergies, she founded The Art Tiffin, a vegan and eco-friendly box of art material.

A family-run and ethical business, The Art Tiffin is the first social enterprise to actively campaign for cruelty-free art materials. Pragya is passionate about helping families find the most natural, toxic-free products, and fostering creativity in children from a young age, but she also knows how important it is to raise awareness about mental health and make a positive social impact by giving back to charities.

In this episode, Pragya walks you through the research and neuroscience behind creativity, something that she believes we can all find inside of ourselves. She explains how taking only a few minutes out of your busy days to do something creative can do wonders for your mental health and wellbeing. And if you think you're not the creative type, hold on. Because you'll find out exactly what being creative means and what you can do to express your own creativity.

Soon after Melissa Brujin had her first child, she realised that things weren’t quite right. Struggling to bond with her baby, wracked with anxiety about her abilities as a mum, and experiencing a general loss of confidence, she wondered what was wrong with her. Although she sought help, she couldn't find anything appropriate in her hometown. Thankfully, there was one person she could turn to: her sister-in-law and midwife Debby Gould.

With Debby's help, plus the wonderful online support she eventually found from mothers on the other side of the world and alongside her own research, Melissa was able to connect the dots and recognise that her emotions and experience of early motherhood had been strongly impacted by the traumatic birth of her first child. Fast forward 19 years, Melissa (now a happy and healed mother of three) and mum-of-two Debby (now a birth consultant), have helped thousands of women and families to heal from traumatic birth experiences through their work at Birthtalk.org.

Melissa and Debby co-authored the book How to Heal a Bad Birth where they emphasise that a traumatic birth where the mother doesn't feel heard or supported, or where she feels frightened or out of control, isn't just something to just 'get over’. Through the book, their in-person workshops and individual consultations, Melissa and Debby have been supporting mothers all over the world to recover from their birthing experiences, so that they can go on to have positive and empowering subsequent births, or if they are not having more babies, they can go back to their families feeling more at peace and able to move on.

In this episode, you'll understand what defines a 'bad' birth and how a challenging experience can negatively impact your mental health. You’ll find out how a traumatic experience can affect women for years to come, if not unpicked and addressed in the right way. You'll also learn how to create your own personalised healing journey by looking at the way you feel now and reflecting back on the life-changing experience of childbirth.

If you suffer from niggling symptoms and never quite feel in best health, you probably put it down to your busy life, reach for the painkillers, and try to get on with your day as best you can.

But did you know that your body is giving you these warning signs and signals that there might be an underlying dysfunction? Your job is to learn to listen to the messages your body is giving you, understand why this is happening, and do something about it.

That's what Jackie Bowker, the mum of a 3 and 6 year old, did. After suffering from adrenal depletion, chronic fatigue syndrome and a decades-long disordered eating and sugar addiction, Jackie learnt first-hand the profound power of food as medicine. As a result of her illness, Jackie became passionate about restoring bodies back to balance to achieve optimal health, and became a Functional Nutritionist.

Jackie went on to establish Hello Happy where, amongst other things, runs a transformative 21 Day Nutrition Course and Plan to detox, reset and revitalise your body to live a healthier life.

In this episode, Jackie will help you identify the root cause of your dysfunction and will set you on the path to heal the body through nutrition, without the need for synthetic drugs or surgery. Her philosophy is simple: the symptoms you’re experiencing like digestive issues, weight gain, infertility, adult acne, anxiety etc, result from weaknesses in the body’s physiological foundations. And it can all be fixed by cleaning up your diet and lifestyle.

Follow Jackie's advice and you'll start to feel vibrant again. You'll shed excess weight, look and feel fantastic and watch niggly problems melt away. As one of her clients so eloquently put it, "Jackie has turned my sluggish body into a strong, lean, high functioning machine and I am now so much better equipped to deal with life's challenges such as raising a small family of 5 with 3 children under 3."

As the mum of a small baby and a two year old, Liz Sergeant knows first hand how much of her energy her kids use up. But unlike the rest of us, Liz has a sneaky advantage.

She's a registered nutritionist and understands that what you eat not only affects your energy levels, but also your sleep quality, mood, concentration, digestion, body shape and many other health complaints.

Liz believes that the foundation of good nutrition and health is based on eating real foods. She also knows that mums lead busy lives, and with so much conflicting dietary advice out there, this can be a lot harder than it sounds. She founded The Well Nourished Club to help cut through the confusion and support people to change their diet, improve their nutrition and achieve their goals.

But this episode goes beyond just food. Liz takes a holistic approach and as well as talking about nutrition, we discuss adapting to motherhood while running a business, avoiding burnout, and getting the balance right by recognising your limitations and being realistic in what you can achieve.

Your body is your most precious possession and Liz is here to help you look after it. By the end of this episode you will cast aside the chocolate cake, reclaim your flagging energy, and, like Liz, may even consider eating vegetables for breakfast!

With kids comes clobber. The toys, the clothes, the special equipment. Bigger car. Bigger house. More storage. It goes on and on. But what would happen if you decided not to buy anything new for a year?

I loathe shopping, but even I gasped in shock. What nothing? For a whole year? Impossible.

Well not for Jen Gale. In 2012/13 when her two boys were small, she decided to give it a try. Just for fun. It was a bit of a diversion from changing nappies and running around after children all day.

Little did she know that her Make Do and Mend project would lead her to running a successful blog and podcast and having a Facebook group with 16,000 members.  She's appeared on National TV and in the Guardian newspaper (UK), and has even done a TEDx talk. At the beginning of this year, Jen turned her project into a business when she launched her online membership program, The Good Business Hub.

As you can imagine, I had a lot of questions for Jen. In this episode, you'll find out how she managed special occasions like Christmas and kids birthdays when spending is almost inevitable. How she handled getting the necessary things you need for kids, such as car seats. What happened when essential items, like the washing machine, broke down. And the big one, how she got her husband on board with her seemingly wacky plan.

Most mums, I imagine, would bulk at the idea of not buying anything new for a year, but it's enlightening to hear what Jen learnt along the way about herself, her life, and the world we're all leaving behind for our grandchildren.

Dr Kate Dow (PhD) grew up surrounded by anxiety, it was inherent in her home life as a child and seemed to be an integral part of who she was.

Not surprising then, that when she became a mum at the age of 35, anxiety hit her hard. It was understandable. Her children were born just 13 months apart and she was caught in a difficult marriage which later fell apart. Kate ended up raising her two children - who are now 18 and 19 - as a single parent and was constantly gripped by anxiety.

But Kate didn't want this life and worked hard to combat and overcome her fears. She's devoted her life to supporting women, especially mums, through her multidisciplinary, heart-centered approach. She's a successful Mind-Body Psychologist, Consultant, and Empowerment Coach and the author of the book Fear-Less: The Art of Using Anxiety to your Advantage.

In this episode, we talk about how prevalent anxiety is amongst mums, and how anxiety can negatively spread through your world in a downwards spiral. You'll understand how anxiety impacts you and learn how to notice the signs of it showing up in your life. Kate's 'Fear-Less' approach has been created specifically for women, and through it, you'll discover how to transform your anxiety.
