Entering motherhood brings about great change. The life you had before kids no longer exists and sometimes it's hard to figure out who you are in all of this. Sometimes you wonder if your identity has been buried under a pile of dirty laundry.

Monica Kade is a communications expert whose work focuses on how you can express who you are and become a better communicator. She's a writer, runs speaker workshops and has interviewed many well known creative minds, entrepreneurs and thought-leaders through her Monica Kade podcast.

Monica knows the importance of "letting your light shine through", and today will help you build confidence by realising your own self-worth.

In this episode, we talk about what it means to be authentic, find your gift and understand your purpose. You’ll learn how to make a reality out of your dreams in the snatched time you have available through an 'I can' attitude. We discuss the importance of focusing on the journey and how to have some fun along the way; and explore why you are doing a disservice to yourself and those around you if you don't start sharing your story with the world.

Former financial services professional and mum of two, Rebecca Ryan is a yoga and meditation teacher and the published author of Mindfulness for Mothers, a book that teaches you how to stay calm and present while caring for your child.

My own interest in meditation was completely lost under piles of laundry and screaming babies when I entered the frantic world of motherhood. But having used mindfulness and meditation to overcome a difficult year, I'm once again a raving fan and consider it an integral part of bettering myself as a mum.

Rebecca enjoys sharing her passion for meditation with other mothers, whether long-term meditators or newbies, and encourages her students to allow mindfulness to seep into their daily lives. She's practical and down to earth because as a busy mum herself, understands how tricky bringing a sense of calm into our bursting-at-the-seems life can be.

In this episode, Rebecca explains why you should bother to meditate in the first place and, once convinced, how you can go about doing it. You'll learn the three key elements of meditation that are common to all styles which will deepen your understanding and help you to simplify your practice.

Rebecca shows you that mindfulness and meditation is accessible to every mother, however busy, and encourages you to look for the natural breaks in your day in order to build a routine that works specifically for you and your lifestyle.

Motherhood comes with a raft of challenges. I've never been pushed to the limit as much as I have since becoming a mum. I thought I was a pretty tough cookie, but motherhood can hit you like a ton of bricks.

The biggest lesson I've learned is the importance of reaching out and asking for help. That's why I invited Dr Rebecca Moore onto my show today.

Becca is a mum of two and lives in London, UK. She's a birth trauma expert specialising in perinatal mental health, and works for the NHS as well in her own private practice. She writes and lectures widely on the topic and hosts an annual birth trauma conference in London every year.

In this episode we talk frankly and deeply about many of the, often unspoken, dark issues of motherhood. PTSD, anxiety, depression, miscarriage, loneliness and suicide. We share our stories and personal experiences and Becca offers a glimmer of light to mums who are currently struggling through difficult times.

Whether you're a mum who has already come through tough times, are currently suffering, or know someone who is, this is an important episode. We need to bring these issues to light so women know they're not alone and that there is a pathway through to better times if they can summons the confidence to reach out for help.

From third grade onwards, Elisheva Schwartz struggled at school. The differences in the way she learned didn't match that of the school system and it landed her in trouble. That's not to say she didn't achieve a lot in life because she has. But like a lot of children, she had to find a different way.

Mum of two small children, Elisheva become a dyslexia researcher and now hosts the Dyslexia Quest Podcast. With an academic background Cognitive Science and Education, she helps children and their parents fully understand both the strengths and the difficulties of their own unique processing style.

In this episode we talk a little about dyslexia, but then zoom out to the bigger picture of how parents can help their children flourish at school in spite of the variety of learning difficulties that may hinder them.

We talk about navigating your role as your child's advocate with the school; how you can help your child overcome stress and anxiety and develop resilience; and how mums can help boost their child's self-esteem. Best of all, you'll be given the tools to teach your child how to develop self-compassion and learn that sometimes, in spite of all the wonderful support available, the best thing you can do is look them in the eye, show them that you care and give them a giant hug.

In the late '80's a horrific earthquake flattened Armenia killing thousands of people and leaving a trail of devastation. Anna Seewald was 13 at the time and, although she lost her mother, was left to deal with a world turned upside-down by herself, while the rest of the country tried to do the same.

The experience shaped and changed her, and she dedicated her life to helping and serving children. It was only when she became a mother herself did she realise that parents also need help and support so that they may help their children blossom.

As a young adult, Anna's studies bought her to the USA and she now lives in New Jersey with her husband and their 9 year old daughter. She's the founder of Authentic Parenting where she's helped hundreds of parents around the world in the emotional job of parenting. Anna believes that as you raise your children, you grow yourself.

In this episode, we talk about the importance of dealing with unresolved past issues and healing from trauma. You'll understand how to address your big emotions so you don't become hijacked by them and manage your stress and overwhelm so you can show up more greatly in your parenting. Anna will help you make sense of your stories and break free of harmful patterns and triggers to become more authentic in your parenting.

Sara Bussandri is an Italian mum of 3 boys aged 9, 6, and 3 and lives in London, UK. Throughout her pregnancies and around maternity leave Sara continued her career as Business Analyst. But by 2016 the heavy pace of holding down a career, raising three boys and running a household took its toll. The stress and overwhelm of being on the hamster wheel of life made her feel like she was in survival mode and consequently felt unfulfilled in all areas of her life.

Things had to change, but it took a (literal) bang to her head to jolt her into making the difficult decision to take a break from her work. With a broken leg, she started a blog and carved out a new career as a freelance writer and soon-to-be author which gave her the freedom and flexibility to work around her children. She now writes passionately on her Mind Your Mamma blog as well as for various publications, including the Huffington Post UK about her journey on the path to self-awareness and self-discovery.

Her path to a better life was long, slow and painful, but ultimately successful. Today she shares her transformation from living on ‘auto-pilot’ to creating a more mindful and intentional life for herself and her family.

Kate Alexandra is a Sydney-based yoga and meditation teacher, the mum of two small children, and a passionate advocate of the importance of nurturing yourself.

Her self-care journey began soon after she entered motherhood and came as a result of caring for her very high needs baby. Severely lacking sleep and stressed to the max, she developed post-natal anxiety, severe insomnia and her mental health crumbled.

Seeing similar problems with others, Kate founded the Radical Self-Care Project which began life as a humble instagram ‘challenge’ back in December 2015. Today, she hosts her own podcast, has developed a 28-day E-Course, and most recently has launched the Radical Self Journal through a successful crowd funding project.

Kate assures you that self-care isn’t indulgent, or limited to simply treating yourself. By taking care of yourself you'll get to know yourself better and by making it part of your daily life, not only are you sending love inwards to yourself, you become more loving and caring to everyone around you. Your partner and kids will thank you for it.

In this episode you'll discover what Radical Self-Care means and why a 'one size fits all approach' doesn't work. You’ll learn about the 'Yoga of Parenthood' a mindset tool around the vitally important practices of surrender, sleep and self-compassion. We talk about how to be more intentional in doing the things that fill you up and you’ll leave with the ability to craft your own unique self-care practice.
