The world of a teenager is a mystery to me, and since my eldest is only 8, I'm going to keep my head buried in the sand for a few years yet. But if you do have teens in the house, this episode is for you.

Australia's most sought-after Motivational Speakers, Sonya Karras and Sacha Kaluri have five children between them and have been working with teenagers in schools and hosting live events for 17 years. They are Australia's leading experts in a wide range of adolescent and family issues, and set up Australian Teenage Expo, the country's largest youth educational event where they have hosted more that 55,000 people in the last 5 years.

As a result of working with young people on a daily basis, they realised there are two major elements of a teenagers life that comes into full bloom at the same time. Their social life and thoughts about their career. Sonya and Sacha's experience and expertise in both these fields, led them to publish 'The Two Worlds of a Teenager’, which we talk about today.

You may not think that partying and career go hand-in-hand for teenagers, but in today's Social Media-driven world, they have a huge impact on each other. Today's episode confirms that "the more choices, options and information a teenager is given, the more likely they are to make positive choices, especially when faced with a tricky situation."

Go Conquer Motherhood!

Jan 21, 2019

Jennifer Bronsnick of The Mindful Family knows what it’s like to struggle in motherhood. Mum of three girls, Jennifer suffered post partum depression when her third daughter was born.

But Jennifer had a powerful weapon to slay the beast. A positive mindset. An attitude that told her “I know this isn’t forever” and “What can I learn from this?”

Author of ‘Mindful Mommy: 10 Secrets for Healing your Mind, Body and Spirit after Having a Baby’, Jennifer now helps mums turn a challenge into their greatest gift. She believes that the obstacles you face - and boy, motherhood brings about plenty of those - gives you an opportunity to learn and grow, rather than becoming something that you try to avoid.

In this action-packed episode, you’ll learn how to become more resilient and bounce back from overwhelming pressure and anxiety. You’ll find out how to deal with chronic stress and past trauma. And you’ll know how to handle the negative emotions that burden you.

Jennifer advocates that motherhood is about personal development, and we learn as much from our children as they learn from us. She says, “There’s no such thing as an ideal mother. Every child needs a different mother and we’re the exact mum they need us to be”

Lisa Zawistowski says that if you don’t have a plan, then you just have to make do with whatever life happens to throw at you. Which is why having a plan is so critical.
Happiness and success coach and a master change agent, Lisa is the mum of two teenagers. She's the founder of Small Steps to Big Change where she helps clients do exactly that. Through her three-step Get Clear, Get Real and Get Going process, she helps clients make a big change in their life by taking small but deliberate steps.

Lisa believes that happiness is the core of enjoying everything you are, everything you do and everything you achieve. Today we talk about how to be purposeful in your intentions, how to combat your fear of change in order to claim the life you want, and that optimism is something that can be learned.

Lisa will teach you to Get Clear about who you want to be and what you want to achieve. You'll Get Real about where you are in your life right now. And then you can take action and Get Going to create a life that you absolutely love. One small step at a time.

Go Conquer Motherhood!

What happens when everything you had in your life has to be given up, and all your hopes and dreams suddenly need to change?

That's what happened to Arizona-based Laneic Lavalle.

Shortly after her 3 year old son was born, Laneic gave up her 4 year military career as it wasn't compatible with solo parenthood. She hit rock bottom when she realised she was completely overwhelmed by trying to hang on to a career she loved, and at the same time be a great mum to her son.

But she found her way through the fog, and redefined herself through her new business, My Name is not Mommy. She now helps other mums who have lost their identity to reconnect with who they are and create a life filled with purpose and passion.

Today Laneic helps you find the tools in your everyday life to help you retain your identity whilst still being a brilliant parent. Through her 4-step process, she'll show you that motherhood isn't a barrier, but a motivator for your dreams.
