In the late '80's a horrific earthquake flattened Armenia killing thousands of people and leaving a trail of devastation. Anna Seewald was 13 at the time and, although she lost her mother, was left to deal with a world turned upside-down by herself, while the rest of the country tried to do the same.

The experience shaped and changed her, and she dedicated her life to helping and serving children. It was only when she became a mother herself did she realise that parents also need help and support so that they may help their children blossom.

As a young adult, Anna's studies bought her to the USA and she now lives in New Jersey with her husband and their 9 year old daughter. She's the founder of Authentic Parenting where she's helped hundreds of parents around the world in the emotional job of parenting. Anna believes that as you raise your children, you grow yourself.

In this episode, we talk about the importance of dealing with unresolved past issues and healing from trauma. You'll understand how to address your big emotions so you don't become hijacked by them and manage your stress and overwhelm so you can show up more greatly in your parenting. Anna will help you make sense of your stories and break free of harmful patterns and triggers to become more authentic in your parenting.

Sara Bussandri is an Italian mum of 3 boys aged 9, 6, and 3 and lives in London, UK. Throughout her pregnancies and around maternity leave Sara continued her career as Business Analyst. But by 2016 the heavy pace of holding down a career, raising three boys and running a household took its toll. The stress and overwhelm of being on the hamster wheel of life made her feel like she was in survival mode and consequently felt unfulfilled in all areas of her life.

Things had to change, but it took a (literal) bang to her head to jolt her into making the difficult decision to take a break from her work. With a broken leg, she started a blog and carved out a new career as a freelance writer and soon-to-be author which gave her the freedom and flexibility to work around her children. She now writes passionately on her Mind Your Mamma blog as well as for various publications, including the Huffington Post UK about her journey on the path to self-awareness and self-discovery.

Her path to a better life was long, slow and painful, but ultimately successful. Today she shares her transformation from living on ‘auto-pilot’ to creating a more mindful and intentional life for herself and her family.

Kate Alexandra is a Sydney-based yoga and meditation teacher, the mum of two small children, and a passionate advocate of the importance of nurturing yourself.

Her self-care journey began soon after she entered motherhood and came as a result of caring for her very high needs baby. Severely lacking sleep and stressed to the max, she developed post-natal anxiety, severe insomnia and her mental health crumbled.

Seeing similar problems with others, Kate founded the Radical Self-Care Project which began life as a humble instagram ‘challenge’ back in December 2015. Today, she hosts her own podcast, has developed a 28-day E-Course, and most recently has launched the Radical Self Journal through a successful crowd funding project.

Kate assures you that self-care isn’t indulgent, or limited to simply treating yourself. By taking care of yourself you'll get to know yourself better and by making it part of your daily life, not only are you sending love inwards to yourself, you become more loving and caring to everyone around you. Your partner and kids will thank you for it.

In this episode you'll discover what Radical Self-Care means and why a 'one size fits all approach' doesn't work. You’ll learn about the 'Yoga of Parenthood' a mindset tool around the vitally important practices of surrender, sleep and self-compassion. We talk about how to be more intentional in doing the things that fill you up and you’ll leave with the ability to craft your own unique self-care practice.

Libby Want is the author of Monster Spray Mum, a story book that helps children who are scared of monsters. The book was brought about by her own son’s fears and inspired by his wonderful imagination.

And of course, behind every successful mother is a monster of a real-life story.

Libby spent years trying to conceive and eventually, after 4 years of emotionally exhausting IVF cycles had two boys, who are now 4 and 2.

She celebrated conceiving her children by eating, and with both pregnancies gained roughly 28kg which she subsequently shed, twice.

In this episode we talk about Libby’s journey including the power of community, particularly when it’s not a supportive one. And how to successfully follow your passion simply by just doing it.
